Exploring Quantifiers: Much vs. Many in the Classroom
Hello everyone,
Today I’m excited to share my classroom task for the Current Issues in Teaching course. I created a one-page lesson plan using the ASSURE model, focusing on the quantifiers “much” and “many” for high school EFL learners in Turkey.
Lesson Overview
The goal of this lesson was to help students understand and apply “much” and “many” correctly. I started with a quick explanation of the rules and examples to clarify the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. Students then practiced with worksheets and explored real-life examples using Corpusmate, an online corpus tool. This allowed them to see how “much” and “many” are used in authentic contexts. Finally, students created original sentences and shared them with peers for feedback.
