More Than Just an Interview Assignment At first, I thought this assignment would be similar to many other projects I have completed before. I expected to do some research, ask a few questions, and write a report. However, the process turned out to be much more engaging than I had expected. Choosing a historical figure and creating an interview encouraged me to think differently about learning. Instead of simply reading information from a textbook or website, I had the opportunity to explore a person's ideas, decisions, and experiences with conversation. This made the learning process feel more interactive and enjoyable. One challenge I faced was creating meaningful questions. I wanted the interview to go beyond basic facts and focus on topics that would lead to interesting responses. Thinking about what to ask helped me develop my questioning skills and encouraged me to look at the topic from different perspectives. It also reminded me that the quality of an interview often depen...

Hello everyone, As this semester comes to an end, I would like to say goodbye and share some of my thoughts about this course. Looking back, I can honestly say that this course was both challenging and rewarding. Through the semester, we completed many technology-mediated tasks and explored different ways of integrating technology into language teaching. Before taking this course, I already believed that technology could be useful in education, but now I understand much better how it can be used effectively to support learning rather than simply making lessons more digital. Among all the tasks, my favorite one was the PSA project about conscious antibiotic use. Creating a short digital story and combining visuals with meaningful messages was both enjoyable and educational. I also enjoyed working with tools such as Canva and exploring different ways to present information creatively. One of the most memorable parts of this course was exploring different technological tools...

Collaborative Writing Experience For this task, our group wrote a film review about The Truman Show by working together on Google Docs. Our group members were Sema Yılmaz and Nurten Gülce Güler. We shared ideas, wrote different parts of the review, and checked each other’s writing during the process. Using Google Docs made the task easier because everyone could edit the document and leave comments at the same time. We also gave peer feedback to improve grammar mistakes and make the review more organized. Sometimes it was a little confusing when more than one person edited the same part, but overall the process went well. I think collaborative writing is helpful because it allows everyone to contribute different ideas. Google Docs was useful for communication and editing, especially with the comment section. It was also easier to see changes instantly instead of sending files to each other again and again. This activity helped us improve both our writing and teamwork skills. I a...

Our Digital Storytelling Project: PSA on Antibiotic Use For our Digital Storytelling project, we created a short PSA about conscious antibiotic use. We chose this topic because we realized that many people use antibiotics without really knowing when they are necessary, and this can lead to serious problems. At the beginning, we brainstormed a few ideas, but this topic stood out since it is both common and important. After deciding, we did some research to understand what antibiotic resistance is and why it matters. This step helped us feel more confident about what we were saying in our video. Then we moved on to writing the script. We tried to keep it short, clear, and easy to understand. Since PSAs are very short, it was actually a bit challenging to decide what to include and what to leave out. We focused on explaining the problem, giving a few simple examples, and ending with a clear message about what people should do. Instead of filming ourselves, we decided to create t...

The Role of 21st Century Learning in Language Education To me, 21st century learning is about preparing student for real life situations, not just for exams. It focuses on different skills like communication, creativity, and critical thinking, rather than memorizing. In today’s world people are surrounded by technology, so learning should include that reality and help them use these technological tools effectively. For ELT classes, this approach is very important. Learning a language is not just about memorizing or grammar rules; it is about using language in a meaningful way and in real life context. With technology, students can watch videos, join online classes, or even they can communicate with people around the world. This makes learning more engaging. As a teacher candidate, I believe including technology into the ELT classrooms is no longer optional, it is necessary. Technology can support students in various ways like, different learning styles or making the lessons more ...

Understanding Cyberbullying Through Infographics We were asked to make an informational infographic about an ethical or legal problem related to technology use. Our purpose was to give information in a basic and visual way so others can easily understand the topic. I choose cyberbullying because this is something that many people experience or witness, but not everyone can fully understand how serious it is. While preparing my infographic, I mainly focused on what cyberbullying is, where it happens, and why it matters. I also added some examples and some tips on how to prevent it or how to deal with it. I used Canva to desing the infographic. It was easy to use and had a lot of templates available, but It was still a bit hard to keep everything short and clear. Sometimes I wanted to write longer sentences, but I had to remind myself that it should be simple. Choosing the right colors and template also took too much time. I think infographics are really helpful in the ELT cl...
